Chuo Pier plays a central role among the many piers located in Hakodate Bay. The Hakodate Port Government Building and many large warehouses are located on the pier, making Chuo Pier a base for both domestic and international marine logisitics operations. The pier offers views of Mount Hakodate, Midori-no-shima Island, Tomoe Ohashi Bridge and in the evening the beautiful lights of the Motomachi District as well as fire for luring fish at night in the distance.
