Following Route 227 from Hakodate toward Esashi leads to the mountain access road for Mt. Kijihiki. The public cattle farm located on the Kijihiki Highland has camping facilities as well as pastured cattle and horses. From the look-out point, visitors can enjoy sweeping views from Onuma to Volcano Bay (Uchiura Bay) and Mt. Komagatake as well as from Mount Hakodate to the Tsugaru Straits over the Ono Plain. The Kijihiki Highland is closed from the end of October to the beginning of March.
