｢Reverse Nightscapes,｣as known locally, have recently grown in popularity as the secret spreads through the local community. The expansive views from the plateau and mountains opposite Mount Hakodate offer a calmness juxtaposed with the view from Mount Hakodate. On a clear night visitors are treated to a star-filled, dazzling night sky. Nakano is known for the black silhouette of Mount Hakodate and the dots of fishing vessel lights spread across the Tsugaru Strait that frame the backdrop of the city.
