First established in 1965 as a college of commerce, today Hakodate University also focuses on senkojuku (4-year integrated curriculum) and international education. The campus, located outside downtown near Miharashi Park (Kosetsuen), is surrounded by a rich natural environment. The university's large lecture hall has an open ceiling on the 2nd and 3rd floor and can accommodate up to 486 students. The campus also has a number of other university-grade facilities, including a music studio and fitness facility.
